Thomas The Tank Engine will ride that rails this season at Tweetsie Railroad. Opening Day was April 13th and North Carolina’s first theme park announced their season’s most exciting events, including long time favorites like Day Out with Thomas, July 4th Fireworks, and the annual Ghost Train Halloween Festival.
The ET&WNC Railroad Train has been running the hills of North Carolina since 1879. Although this time hasn’t always been at Tweetsie, the train has rumbled on for more than 125 years and brings to life some of the history of its namesake “Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina” where it run until the late 1800’s.
Tweetsie carries on this legacy with one of the last remaining steam engines from that era.
If you’d enjoy riding a piece of history, mark your calendar for one of their exciting events.
