North Carolina boasts some of the best rock climbing on the east coast. Some of the challenges in the High Country are as hard to climb as El Capitan, just on a smaller scale. We’re not Yosemite and never will be, but rock climbers from all over the east coast travel to NC for exhilarating adventure and are seldom disappointed by the mountain. From beginners climbing a 100 feet or less to rugged climbers looking for sheer vertical walls, the Blue Ridge Mountains have something to offer everyone and there are outfitters for all skill levels.
