It’s been more than a month and a half since the kitchen renovation started with tearing our the old cabinets and installing new ones. Missing pieces, wrong size drawer fronts, and other mishaps were the first delays. Not enough copper to cover the countertops was the next delay. Kidney stones came next, in the middle of the tile floor installation.
Today, the tile floor was finally finished. The radiant heat coils are installed. The tile is down. It’s ready for grout.
Tomorrow the last part of the copper countertop will be installed, along with the cork backsplash and risers for the appliances. Although the project has progressed slowly, it’s almost done and most of the work has been completed by the innkeepers, Greg and Amy. They have put their blood sweat and even a few tears into this house over the past few months.
Stay tuned into the blog to watch the last of the house come together and see the final result; kitchen, carpet, paint, refinished floor, and more. When these things are completed, the outside projects will start and blog visitors can watch the construction of new cabins, in-ground hot tub and lots more.
