Cold weather and snow has returned to Banner Elk. Sugar Mountain has been making snow every night this week. More cold temperatures are predicted. The 2012-2013ski season is shaping up to be the best in recent history.
Snow boarders and skiers have been on the slopes for a couple weeks. Since the mountain doesn’t typically open this early, Ski Patrol has been taxed with getting enough patrollers to cover the mountain, but that is a problem the mountain would rather have, over warm weather.
With seasonal rates at their lowest of the year (November) the area is filling up quickly with people from all over the Carolinas and Tennessee. Lift tickets are under $30. Ski rentals are even less. Lodging is extremely reasonable. If you’re looking for a fall getaway, plan your pre Thanksgiving trip right now.
You won’t find these prices any time after November.
